Harbord Scouts - Up and coming events

Hello from Tin Tin,

Scouts is really getting exciting. I'm sure you have heard about the adventures of the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea with their flooding, heat wave, and then Typhoon. Talk about adventure. Two Harbord Scouts Bella and Poppy went to the Jamboree and will be back in Australia next week.

  • Lots of our Scouts went to State Rally 2023 held at Cataract Activity Centre, Baden Powell Drive Appin, and had an amazing adventure.

  • National Tree Day that we organized with the council at Curl Curl we had over 300 people attend and planted thousands of trees.

  • 17th Annual Escape and Evade, 19-20 Aug, Scouts will evade detection over the weekend between Curl Curl and Mona Vale.

  • The Beach to Beach fun run is on Sun 27 Aug so all Scouts and Cubs should arrive by 7 AM in uniform at Ocean and Devitt Sts, Narrabeen to help man the water station. (This is only for a couple of hours so if parents could stay please) https://beach2beach.com.au/

  • Joey Campfire at the Ingleside Scout Camp on Saturday 26 Aug 2023. Besides singing, there will be great FUN for you and your family. Register for the Joey Camp Fire We would love some scouts to volunteer to help with this.

  • Cuboree is coming up in 48 Days https://cuboree.nsw.scouts.com.au/

  • We are holding a Community Scout Fire Event on Wed 13 Sep to try to get more people to join so please invite your soccer team, your neighbors, and your school friends to this. We will have some marshmallows, and a bbq and scouts will run some games. (We need adult helpers for this event so please let me know if you can help with the BBQ, or setting up) Register for the Fire Night

  • Joey Paddling Day 14 Oct - (2 sessions, morning & afternoon) Canoing at Jamieson Park, Narrabeen.

  • Halloween Trivia Night on Sat 28 October will be a super spooky night. Can your business donate any prizes for this event? This event is open to the Community so please invite your friends.

  • Joey 'Pirate Holiday' camping at Ingleside Scout Camp.28-29 Oct

  • Our main fundraiser each year is selling Christmas Trees. This will be on Saturday 9th December from 7 AM with overflow on Sunday 10th if needed. We need volunteers to help with Signs: Painting, putting up and taking down, Flyers: asking shops to put in their windows, On the day: selling trees, manning the bbq, and cleaning up. Please let me know if you can help.

  • Help needed: We are always looking for practical help and need parents to volunteer to become a leader or join the Parent Committee. Please nominate your partner or friend. We want to spread the load by having lots of leaders and parent helpers.
